This young woman can run my World.

16 year old Malala Yousafzai's speech to the UN was inspirational even to a hardened old tough nut like me. As most of us gay guys (and gals) know only too well, and 'lest we forget', that women's rights are closely wrapped up in our own and vice-versa. This young woman can run my world any day (though probably not The Bullring).

Let's hope something of Malala's vision comes true for the next generation of girls and boys.
See her full speech to the United Nations, as published in today's Independent newspaper linked below, it sets out the kind of vision young people used to have.

Question to self: are European and American kids as articulate and selfless as Malala? I sure hope so, or did we all get ruined by commercialism and cynicism? Did we just get 'to posh to push' (to steal a phrase) for something better? I love the fact that this young woman from Pakistan can remind us all what should be important in life. We need more like her.
